Yu De, general manager of the International Business Department of SAIC Motor, introduced that with the growth of sales of SAIC MG in the European market, SAIC Motor will build a factory in Europe and is currently actively looking for a suitable project location.
In addition, in July, SAIC MG's first purely electric sports car Cyberster (parameter|inquiry) will be officially launched in the UK and will be launched in many overseas markets around the world.
In September 2022, the "China's first global car in the auto industry" MG4 pure electric vehicle will be launched simultaneously in China and nearly 30 European countries. According to SAIC's forecast, MG4 will become the first global car in China with cumulative sales exceeding "500,000 units" in 2025. In addition to focusing on the European market, SAIC Motor has formed five "100,000-vehicle-level" regional markets in Australia and New Zealand, the Americas, the Middle East, ASEAN, and South Asia. In the Australian and New Zealand market, the cumulative sales volume of the MG brand from January to May exceeded 22,000, a year-on-year increase of 2%, ranking fifth in the Australian passenger car market, with a market share of 6.1%. In the American market, the sales volume of the MG brand from January to May exceeded 30,000, a year-on-year increase of 13%. It ranked seventh in the Mexican passenger car market, with a market share of 5.2%. In the Middle East market, the cumulative sales volume of the MG brand from January to May exceeded 26,000, a year-on-year increase of 13%, ranking fifth in the passenger car market in nine countries in the Middle East, with a market share of 5.5%. In the ASEAN and South Asian markets, the sales volume of the MG brand from January to May exceeded 39,000, a year-on-year increase of 4%; it ranked third in the Thai passenger car market, with a market share of 7.5%.
